The poet in me
Wants to listen
Wants to feel
Wants to taste the journey, out side of the box.

Abilene,

Thanks for your first post. Hope there will be many more. You have described the feelings most writers feel. Yes, you listen, read, feel, then you write and test it on others to see if their ideas and feedback allows you to see the work differently. But never forget that the work is your creation and you will steer it in the direction of you own choice.

I get where you are coming from to a degree but to
be honest, it sounds more like you want to be a cook,
instead of a poet. I also think writing about poetry is the
hardest thing to do with any originality. This needs
some fresh nouns, something other than the old thinking
outside the box which is basically what I remember hearing
from my first job a few decades ago.

observation is the cornerstone to being a writer of any sort -- to look and look and look, and dare to see from the Heart so wonderfully -- if you're not confused, you're not looking
