Themes

Postby Cameron on Wed Apr 02, 2008 6:51 am

I'm looking for a better theme for this board. This one is a sort-of-okay one (read: better than the old one), but not the best.* There are about a hundred I need to sort through before I can pick the best.

Anyway, what I want to say about this is that it doesn't really affect you. Members can set the forum to display in any theme they like, in their profiles. You probably already know this, but I find it's best to make sure. But I wanted (and continue to want) to switch the forum to a more stylish theme for all the guests we get reading through here.

*Actually the more I look at it, the weirder it seems. What are those round things by the tabs? Quaffles?

EDIT: Got to find another theme tomorrow. It's almost impossible to see that a section has new posts, what with these silly little quaffles.

I've been mucking around with my themes the last couple of days because I have boredom issues, so I've got no idea what the standard view is anymore :) Which theme have you got now?

Subza. (You can tell which theme is the default by logging out, by the way.)

So what do you think of it? While I'm asking, for that matter, what do you think of the section remodeling job I'm doing right now? I'm operating in a vacuum here.

(I don't know whether you saw, but I did accidentally edit my response into your post instead of responding properly there, before I caught it. The buttons are right next to each other, so it's a constant danger.)

It's looking good (I'm popping in at work though, no in depth analysis!) -- much tidier and I do like the light verse section since that's where I was posting light stuff before even though it wasn't exactly the right place... we need somewhere for utter frivolity, just to lighten up. Bring forth the fools, post haste.

I certainly hope that's what the Samizdat section will be used for, yeah. (I combined the light verse and "samplers select" sections to make it, if you didn't quite notice. I'm a bit confused by what meant by what you said, is all.)

I'm a bit purple around the breakfast as well.

What I meant to say is, the whole place is looking like it's been freshly renovated -- although nothing's really changed, it's still a little bit exciting to find all the little tweaks you've made.

'Fess up, you've only done it so you can keep talking about tweaks, haven't you?

I like it Cameron, thanks for putting in the effort.
