what the fuck did camus know.

A place where the ingredients may be raw and spicy. Not for those under 18 or otherwise innocent-minded.

what the fuck did camus know.

said his heart was missing
beats. just randomly, but never went
to see someone about it.
sunken eyes full of cigarettes
and alcohol made sure
he could not see clear or run
as fast as he wished.
he fell in love. many times.
many times, he died.
sometimes insomnia struck him
in the middle of his forehead.
other times he woke up
in a sweat, thirsty. one day
he started laughing.
and never stopped.

I admire every detail of this poem. The line breaks are clever. It begins mid-flight.... as though in the middle of a compelling paragraph. The punctuation is perfect. Best of all, perhaps, is that wry desperation-- hopelessness with a sense of humour.

One of my favourites-- instant classic.
Thank you for posting this.

Don't think I could knock this if I wanted.

this is a great section:

A Poetic biography encapsulating observation with a wry wit in it -- things I did not know about Al and now completely makes sense!
