How to impersonate an Eskimo

Head north
well suited for the purpose.

Develop an affinity for dogs.
and revel in home cooking.

Be indifferent to the longest night.
Stay calm in cramped quarters
when the landscape melts around you.

Glide easy into white
undiminished by the vastness
enjoy the booming silence
while you look for santa.

Allen. Thanks for taking the time to read through this, i'm open to suggestions about the last line,
or for that matter, any part of the poem.

Cheers

I find this appealing with its ability to build images in such a short piece. I do not like the santa either. seems to take a serious piece and turn it to the silly side. How about something like:

between the cracking of ice.

or something regarding the deterioration of the ice shelf, etc.

Hi bluejay. All I can think of for a replacement final line is
‘and never go south of your days’
But I’ll keep tinkering and give thought to what you said

‘or something regarding the deterioration of the ice shelf, etc.’

thanks for reading and commenting.
