a host of hypocrisies followed by a collection of T.O.E.s

For scrappy little bits of poem, minimalist pieces, poetry tails, witty repartee and other leftovers.

a host of hypocrisies followed by a collection of T.O.E.s

a plague of politicians, a lie of lawyers
all gathered to make a rule,
a nest of rumours, an agenda of tasks
a battery of beliefs for me n' you --

a shuffle of bureaucrats comported
a den of thieves which tax our share,
a pity of prisoners we've become
a cowardice of curs so unaware --

a charade of economists, a company of capitalists
afraid to reveal what they've done,
a battery of bailouts for a horde of misers
that take the money and run --

a haggle of hegemonists, a portfolio of stockbrokers
all greedy to feather their nest,
a breakdown of lies, an unease of compromise,
an exaggeration of fisherman at their best --

as a rhapsody of poets in rhythms rhymed
a promise of tomorrows with a twinkling of todays,
a cliche of critics, a babble of linguists, all cried
its a pack of lies and a mere yearning of yesterdays

. . .

a cluster of scientists chasing stars
round about strings that bind the night,
a set of theories, a murder of meanings
bent by the gravity of their sight --

a galaxy of cosmologists found the answers
in a phantasmagoria of quantum goo,
a batch of bread, a clutch of eggs
a grocery of relativity for me 'n you

a menagerie of mathematicians theorized
a set of numbers in their care,
a rabble of remedies, a vagary of reasons
in the temple of their square

...

waddya call a group of ironic poets?
a brood --

waddya call a group of absurdists?
a happening --
-- we do not live on the Earth we ARE the Earth --

Good fun, but it's not finished, in fact this poem could go on indefinitely
