Why can't we have signatures? Is there some reason, or is it just One Of Those Things?

It's a nice thing to have...

It just happens that  I'm allergic to signature lines. Ad nausem repeats of homilies, ack.
But, that's just me. Many boards allow signatures. Here, though, we allow images too.
One thing I'd fight against strongly:
images in signatures (arrgh, noooo)

Now that we have five co-admins (bluejay, pending his acceptance of the position),
the matter of signatures will go to a vote.
You know how I'll vote; hey, maybe it's not a bad idea after all
(j/k)

Reid

Well, hey, if you don't like them, that's fine. I was just going to do a link to my deviantART gallery anyway. Nothing important. :)

Of course, I made an illustration to show that not everyone will exercise your sort of restraint.

We've seen panels where signature lines are allowed to dominate the content.
Not that we'd let that happen here, but you see, when we do allow compact sig lines,
still, the Bigger-Siggers will feel picked upon; they won't get it.

I have but one vote.
I suspicion that sig lines may come about.

You can always advertise your places in your profile.
That's what I see the profile as being for.
Self-promotion is all good and so forth,
I wouldn't so much mind a simple link as a sig. line.

It's the damned poetry quotes that embed my corkscrew.
(again, you're just seeing that I can go to pieces over a minor point)
This is why we have shared administration. Balance.

Haha! So much for your open policy

What's that Reid? No sig lines? Don't you think your strictures are oh, just a little funny considering WHY you made this forum? Isn't it up to the poster if they want their stuff displayed with a wild-ass sig line?

Nope. That'd be a childish visual assault on critics.
This is a critical site, not so much a billboard for Hello Kitty and WOW plungers.

We'll conduct a poll very soon to determine the signature line question.
One line or two? 10 point or 12?

For sure, no images in the signature line.

Don't you think your strictures are oh, just a little funny
considering WHY you made this forum?

Mind your logic and your points? Do not throw red herrings.
It's because of me that you are even able to post today from behind your cloak.

You may criticize the forum methods all you like.
Please, when posting anonyomously, in particular,
give me a break? Don't imply that I'm some sort of hypocrite
just because I don't like signature lines
(which you have never had here, nor at Poetry Critical either).

----

Would you like to post in all caps too?
Would this make a better forum experience?

We will have polls for these simple matters.

Two polls are now open for voting the matter of signature lines.
http://freewrights.freeforums.org/viewt ... ?p=207#207

Additionally, at this time, signature lines are enabled.
You may create and turn on your desired signature line of any sort.

The second poll will determine signature limits.
